Core Values
Community
We believe that caring, loving relationships that are centered on Christ
should permeate every aspect of church life and that life-change happens not
only on Sundays but best in small groups. (Luke 6:12-13, John 13:34-35,
Acts 2:44-47, 1Cor. 13)
Creativity
We believe that it's important to be creative and seek new, relevant more
appealing ways to minister in our culture while remaining biblically pure.
Our goal is to utilize the diverse gifts and abilities God has given each
one of us to creatively engage people and culture with the gospel. While
God's message is timeless, forms and methods must adapt to the One that we
seek to serve; we desire to support innovation and the creative use of God's
given gifts. (I Cor. 9:19-23)
Evangelism
We believe that lost people matter to God, and therefore, ought to matter to
the church. This includes the concepts of personal relational evangelism
efforts and short-term mission projects. It also includes a commitment to
financially support local, national and world mission endeavors. (Luke
5:30-32, Luke 15, Matt. 18:14)
Excellence
We believe putting forth our best efforts before God, the church and the
world honors God and inspires people. Recognizing that excellence is
dependent on many factors, we will endeavor to continually improve by
reviewing and evaluating all our ministry efforts. (Col. 3:17, Mal.
1:6-14, Prov. 27:17)
Leadership
Christ is the head of the Church. We believe churches should be led by
believers with leadership gifts as empowered by the Holy Spirit. (Neh. 1
and 2, Rom. 12:8, Acts 6:2-5)
Prayer
We believe that God desires His people to pray and that prayer is the power
source behind the ministries at The Brick Church. This included corporate
prayer and prayer in the private lives of believers. In all ministries,
activities and planning of this Church, we will seek God’s wisdom, will and
blessing through prayer. (Ephesians 6:18, Colossians 4:2, 1 Thessalonians
5:17)
Preaching
and Teaching Scripture
We believe that the Bible is the very Word of God, timeless and timely, and
is the standard for all truth, the basis for church doctrine and vital to
successful Christian living. It is relevant to the common needs of all
people at all times and to the specific problems and trials of today’s
world. (II Tim. 3:16-17, James 1:23-25)
Team
Ministry
We believe that all Christians should partner together using their gifts,
talents and abilities in love and service to build up the Body of Christ to
the glory of God. (Romans 12:3-5, 1 Corinthians 12:12-27)
Worship
We believe that we were created to worship God and that God's presence is
made manifest through authentic and celebrative worship. (I Cor. 14:24-25,
John 4:23-24)
